Situation

The clients were in need of a more social space for their growing family and for entertaining friends and family. The existing dwelling was a traditional Victorian terrace that was split into a number of rooms and didn’t fully maximise the footprint of the site.

The client required more space for their growing family. To create a functional space, we opened up the ground floor to create a large living, dining and relaxing area that would also allow them to take full advantage of the garden and when needed retreat away into the snug at the front of the home.

Gallery

Having a holistic view on the entire footprint and reviewing it against requirements for modern living, we presented the clients with an option to open up part of the ground floor, better connect with the garden, flood natural light into the space and preserve a snug (living room) to the front of the home, which has completely unlocked the way in which the home can be used.
