Situation

The existing site was a 1930’s bungalow that had been extended over the years with relatively ad-hoc additions to a number of sides and with a loft space that was limited in use. Although the home sits within is very unique plot, with it being virtually 1 acre, has its own apple orchard and uninterrupted views towards rolling green fields in the distance. There was ample room for improvement.

Large Living Spaces
Following a site visit and a detailed review of the clients aspirations for the site, we were able to develop a design that not only respected the 1930’s aesthetic and details but also took it one step further and really made the most of the home and its position.

Gallery

A detailed analysis was carried out of the dwelling and how it sat within the plot, with a specific focus on its original, existing and proposed volume. This was ultimately sculpted to create an extension to the side and rear at ground floor along with a first floor extension that provided a master suite that not only included a walkthrough wardrobe and master ensuite but also took full advantage of the views that this home had always had but had not been fully appreciated.
